Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Sep 14
Rose petals, tar, licorice and bright red stone fruits lift from the glass in the 2010 Barolo Prapò. This is an especially floral Prapò. Here, too, the structure is implied rather than overly stated. Hints of licorice, tobacco, orange peel, star anise and smoke add complexity on the mid-weight, super-classic finish. This is an utterly exquisite, polished, totally beguiling Barolo from Sergio Germano. The Prapò was aged in 20 and 25 hectoliter casks.

Barolo Vineyard Fine Wine

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
